Kairos Academies 2023-2024 Annual Report

Five Years of Progress, Fifty Years of Promise

Turning five years old. Can you imagine a better milestone? Every experience–new and exciting. Every decision–filled with endless promise and possibility. Lifelong friendships are born, interests discovered, and talents uncovered. At five every action, every detail is another layer in the foundation for the rest of your life.

For a public charter school, five years marked our first opportunity to prove ourselves–to demonstrate to our authorizer and our community that Kairos has what it takes to radically re-imagine education. Our parents, students, teachers, and supporters stood up and, with a resounding voice, declared Kairos is delivering on its promise to south St. Louis. And with a unanimous vote, Kairos Academies was re-authorized to serve students for another five years.

The future of Kairos, though, is so much bigger than just the next five years. The work we’re doing together is laying the foundation for our next 50 years of growth and innovation.

We see the future in rising student performance scores–taking students from below grade level in middle school and lifting them up to and above the standard by graduation. We see the future in our new permanent home–taking ownership of an abandoned factory campus that will soon be transformed into a hub for personalized learning. And most importantly, we see the future in our founding students who, today, have nearly finished laying their foundations and are ready to step into the world and confidently build a life of purpose. What impact will they have on their community, their city, and the world?

In this year's Kairos Academies Annual Report, we celebrate five years of progress–all powered by your support. Now, we’re looking ahead to fifty years of promise. Will you join us?
