Ashanti Nurse takes her future seriously. "My interests are to be a cardiac surgeon when I graduate high school...go to college, maybe Ivy League."

Ashanti, like hundreds of other Kairos high school students, participates in Next Prep: four years of rigorous, interactive programming, career exploration, and professional skill building. It's a hands-on experience designed to empower students to forge a path towards their life, education, and income goals.

Next Prep has been a transformative experience for Ashanti. "I'm keeping my grades high and also focusing on exploring my options after high school and how to get there," she continues.

The "how" is critical for Ashanti. As a high school junior, she's celebrating two remarkable achievements in pursuit of her future goals:

  • Ashanti has now earned over 80 clinical hours!

  • She is one of only 10 high school students nationwide to be selected to join the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools' Rising Leaders Class of 2024-2025.

At Kairos Academies, learning isn’t just a checklist–we develop students into architects of their own lives–equipped with the tools to follow their passions, take on the world’s challenges, and grow into confident, self-directed leaders.
